ribbed framing of the house allows an engagement with site context, as the building steps down to study, and as the raw wood of the ribs creates a feathering as building merges wih landscaping (see hand rendered image). ribs encourage views in certain directions, but enable gimpses to the entire surroundings also.

view down stairs towards study, low bookshelves get progressively higher the deeper you get into study, eventually forming a floor to ceiling mass opposite the large window. a sense of depth is created by the height of the desk matching the ground level at the window.

cracking

cloning, bending, + slicing the module translate the model into a semblance of ordered space. the 'crack' between the two elements defines a transition of space, further reflected in in form change between straight and bent.

weaving

simple operations of cloning and bending have given a sense of weaving from the original module. the junction as a determinant of form, internally and externally, drives the nature of this form.

packing

using clone, taper, edit mesh + boolean, space is dictated by packing.

spiraling

using modifiers stretch + slice the module translates into obvious modes of internal +external space. definite conotations of site fall are apparent too.
